Under the engineer's report, council authorized preparation and advertisement of bid documents for the borough's trash and recycling contract, which expires Dec. 31. The motion to prepare bids was moved and seconded and passed.
The engineer also reported sinkholes at 716 Adams Drive and at 3419 Washington Avenue. Council voted to authorize repairs: the storm sewer inlet at 716 Adams Drive is expected to take a day or two to repair but scheduling may push the work out a couple of weeks; the council also authorized repair of a street lateral at 3419 Washington Avenue. Council members asked for timing details and a follow-up with the public works coordinator.
