Bay Village reviews 2025 IT vendors, weighs removal of copper POTS lines

I.T. Director Jen Demaline provided a vendor-by-vendor review of the services Bay Village used in 2025. Staff identified EMC IT Solutions as the city’s third‑party IT contractor and listed Microsoft (M365), Tyler Technologies (finance and HR systems), CrowdStrike and Black Talon (cybersecurity), Barracuda (cloud archiving), and South Shore Cable (fiber) among notable vendors.
Staff said Beyond Trust was not pursued further during the vendor evaluation process. First Com—responsible for the city’s remaining POTS (plain old telephone service) lines—remains under evaluation because the city still maintains copper phone lines for emergency services until a mandate or policy change allows their removal.
