Budde elected Highway Committee chair; Thunes chosen vice-chair

Supervisor Matthew Budde was elected chair of the Calumet County Highway Committee at the group’s May 13 meeting. Ronald Dietrich nominated Budde for chair, Kathleen Thunes seconded the nomination, and Joseph Mueller called for a unanimous ballot; votes were cast by voice and Budde was elected unanimously.
Supervisor Kathleen Thunes was elected vice-chair after a nomination by Joseph Mueller and a second by Ronald Dietrich; Chair Budde then called for a unanimous ballot and Thunes was confirmed. The committee also amended the agenda to add a discussion item for the next meeting and approved the April 8, 2026 minutes. The meeting was called to order by Highway Commissioner Chad Scheinoha at 8:30 a.m. and adjourned at 9:36 a.m.
