Residents urge enforcement after repeated stop-sign roll-throughs and unsafe Burger King egress

Peter Maceras, a Cambridge Estates resident, told the council the intersection of Argyle and Cambridge is becoming dangerous because "people [are] running stop signs without looking," a problem he said occurs weekly when he leaves his home. He also flagged traffic leaving the Burger King by the fire station as "out of control," asking the council and police to address it.
John Suda, who said he lives off Ridgewood, described near-miss incidents at a stop sign by his bank and on Trimble and told council he had tried following up with borough staff about overgrown vegetation at nearby apartments but had not received timely action. "I got almost hit twice," Suda said, describing encounters that prompted him to request stepped-up enforcement and clearer follow-up from borough staff. Both residents asked the police to consider enforcement or temporary details at problem intersections.
Council President acknowledged the complaints and said staff would follow up with Chief Havoc and borough personnel; the chief and staff agreed to review the locations and return to the residents with more detail. The comments were part of the first public-comment period and prompted a pledge from the council to check on enforcement options and property-maintenance follow-up with the apartment owner.
