Town to seek DEEP permit for lake drawdown; seawall at 206 Route 87 approved

Town staff reported the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) sent a warning letter that seasonal drawdowns require permit submission within seven days of the drawdown. M. Walter said the town needs a drawdown permit for planned spillway repairs and will officially request the drawdown and submit the permit as required.
On a separate item the board approved the application from Brent and Stacey Biernat to replace a seawall at 206 Route 87, with the approval conditioned on recommendations from LMAC. The motion to approve the seawall replacement carried 4-0.
