She said many goal areas are "in progress" at midyear but pointed to demonstrable outcomes: students earning credits through recovery work, 100% of teachers reported as fully credentialed, project-based learning at 47% implementation, and completed improvements to facilities used by programs like Evergreen Academy and Golden Hills.
Garrett emphasized social-emotional and mental-health supports for students, noting trauma-informed practices at about 50% implementation and expanded partnerships to serve foster and unhoused youth. She also described survey and engagement work to gather parent and community input and highlighted career and college readiness metrics that were at or approaching planned levels.
"Our students are actually earning traditionally over 30 credits by December because we, of course, encourage them to do their best to recover credits," Garrett said, underscoring the midyear nature of the snapshot and the plan to continue tracking expenditures and outcomes through the remainder of the school year.
