Board signs statewide certificate after post-election audit selection and canvass; results accurate
Summary
The board drew Lake Preston precinct for the Primary Run-off post-election audit; County Auditor Echo Steffensen reported that poll books, tabulator totals, and other records matched the canvass report and that all numbers were accurate before the board signed the State certificate.
County Auditor Echo Steffensen presented the Primary Run-off Election results to the board and led the canvass process. The board compared the poll book, recap totals, poll pad voter totals, tabulator totals, and votes cast for each candidate in each precinct with the canvass report. Steffensen stated, "All numbers were found to be accurate for each precinct." The Certificate for the State of South Dakota was signed by all members of the Board of Canvassers in Kingsbury County.
As part of the post-election audit procedures the board drew the Lake Preston precinct for the Primary Run-off Election audit. The drawing and the canvass were recorded in the minutes; no discrepancies were reported during the review at the meeting.
