In the May budget update, Miss Phillips reported the district certified P2 attendance at 92.7%, higher than budgeted, and said the larger rolling-average attendance could add about $500,000 in revenue for future years. “We were certified at 92.7%,” Miss Phillips said while describing the effect on projected revenue.
Miss Phillips reviewed changes since the district’s second interim: nearly $700,000 of revenue changes and approximately $3.5 million in added expenses, leaving an estimated decrease in unrestricted fund balance of about $3.1 million. She said the adopted budget currently includes about $5,000,000 of employee reductions and $1,000,000 of nonemployee reductions to address projected deficits; if layoffs are reversed, the multi-year deficit could increase toward $14,000,000 and require transfers‑in to maintain a 5% reserve.
