Mayor Bryan Jensen told the Committee that the purchase of portable nets at the High School effectively doubled the number of playable pickleball courts from about five or six to roughly eleven or twelve, helping meet surging demand for the sport. He said courts are heavily used in the evenings and weekends, particularly around 6:00–6:30 P.M., and that the City currently does not permit reservations to maintain open public access.
The Committee discussed the potential to expand pickleball by relocating soccer activity from the future City Hall site to free space for courts. No timeline or funding for permanent courts was presented; members identified high community interest and the need to balance space for multiple sports.
