Mayor Bryan Jensen said the city will create a full‑time Program and Facility Manager to support the Recreation Coordinator in organizing youth sports, coordinating coaches, and providing on‑site supervision at events. Jensen described the change to the Recreation Coordinator classification as a housekeeping update that reflects existing supervisory duties: "This Ordinance was designed to unclassify it to reflect its supervisory and management character," the Law Director explained during the discussion.
The Administration proposed a compensation range of $70,000 to $80,000 for the new Program and Facility Manager. Council President Brian Fischer and Ward 1 Councilor Jennifer Demaline questioned whether that range was high given the role’s responsibilities; the Mayor said the range was intentionally broad to allow growth and that the City would likely start a hire at the lower end. Council requested a full position description be provided before the next meeting.
