Students from Rincon, Conway and Lincoln honored at Escondido Union board meeting

Principals from Rincon Middle School, Conway Academy and Lincoln Elementary presented student leadership and excellence awards, praising programs such as WEB, PUP, AVID and community-funded projects including a bike giveaway supported by Sunrise Rotary and the Escondido Police Department.
District principals used the board meeting to spotlight student work and community partnerships. Rincon Middle School Principal Tina Meglich highlighted student leadership programs (WEB and PUP), a student-led family art night, and a transition event that engaged more than 300 visiting 5th graders; she called forward Sophie Luna and other students for recognition.
Conway Academy Principal Crystal Miller described the school's partnership with EL Education, student-led conferences and a documentary funded by an EL Media grant, then recognized students Oscar Zuniga, Bailey Guardado and Maddox Rojas. Lincoln Elementary Principal Jose Hernandez described a December 16, 2025 bike giveaway in which every 3rd grader received a bike, helmet and light, crediting donations from the Sunrise Rotary and the Escondido Police Department. Preschool coordinator Lorraine Silva also reviewed preschool growth, new curriculum aligned to the Preschool and TK Learning Foundations and use of Prop 28 funds to add art and music enrichment.
