Escondido Union board approves two assistant-principal hires and district promotions

Naomi Shanks, who told the board she has 28 years of experience including service in Poway Unified and overseas, said she was “delighted to accept the position of assistant principal at Del Dios Academy.”
In open session the board also voted to approve employment contracts in the superintendent’s office. The board approved a contract for Michelle Cagle as assistant superintendent of business services at an annual salary of $204,463 for the term July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029. The board also approved a promotion moving Audrey Frank from assistant superintendent of human resources to deputy superintendent of human resources on a three-year term at a salary of $214,689. District staff presented the contract terms during the meeting and the board recorded unanimous votes on both items.
The appointments and contracts were approved by recorded voice votes during the meeting. Board President Harper closed the personnel segment by thanking staff for their work on recruitment and onboarding.
