Commissioners issue proclamation for 52nd Durham Crop Hunger Walk; organizers urge participation

"My name is Alice Sharp, and I am very fortunate to be the coordinator of the walk," the coordinator said, thanking Durham County residents and committee members. She said the walk supports 12 local agencies including Urban Ministries and Meals on Wheels and that proceeds have added up to more than $5,000,000 for Durham County over the years. Commissioners thanked organizers, noted student graphic‑design contributions from North Carolina Central University and encouraged public participation.
The proclamation was introduced as a ceremonial item and commissioners offered brief comments of thanks and recognition; no board action beyond the proclamation was required.
