Council approves two USDA loan resolutions totaling $2.517 million for pumping station work

The Trappe Town Council on Feb. 4 approved two loan resolutions required to close USDA financing for the pumping station upgrade. President Newnam read the resolution titles and moved approval of Loan Resolution RUS Bulletin 1780-27 in the amount of $1,141,000; Commissioner Walter Chase seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The council then approved a second resolution under the same bulletin for $1,376,000, again on a unanimous vote.
Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan told the council that the resolutions are required to close the USDA loan; she earlier stated that closing on the USDA loans for the pumping station project is scheduled for Feb. 19. The combined approved amounts total $2,517,000 and will be used for the pumping station upgrade and rehabilitation project as outlined in the meeting materials.
