Engineering staff presented the Country or Estates Phase 2 reconstruction project and recommended awarding the contract to DDM Construction Corporation for an amount not to exceed $2,779,067.50, including a contingency. Brian Manderscheid described the scope as including concrete pavement, drainage, water and wastewater work and conduit for lighting.
Councilmember questions focused on drainage improvements and schedule. Manderscheid said the work includes about 7,800 square yards of concrete pavement, new drainage and water/wastewater mains and that the contract term is expected to be 270 days. The council approved the contract unanimously and then approved a separate change order (Change Order No. 1) related to the project in an amount not to exceed $165,000.
