Kingsbury County lifts burn ban after Emergency Manager recommendation

At the meeting in De Smet, Longville told the Board she recommended lifting the burn ban; Commissioner Steve Spilde moved to lift the ban and Commissioner Troy Nelson seconded. "Motion by Spilde, second by Nelson, to lift the current burn ban," the minutes record. All present voted aye and the motion carried.
The action followed a quarterly review of the county's LEMPG matrix and coincided with the Board's approval of the Basic Plan for the Kingsbury County Local Emergency Operations Plan, which the Board approved on a motion by Nelson, second by Spilde. The Basic Plan approval and the burn-ban lift were recorded as separate motions and votes at the May 19 meeting.
