Fenton council honors retiring assessor, approves contracts and equipment purchases

Mayor Sue Osborn called the City of Fenton council meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. on June 8, 2026, led the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance, and noted the retirement of City Assessor Tonya Lall. Councilmembers Bottecelli, Lockwood, McDermott, Sage and Suchowski participated; Bancroft was excused.
The council approved a broad consent agenda that included payment of invoices totaling $322,264.07, minutes for May 26 and June 1, several board resignations, and the appointment of Michael Sleeman to a Zoning Board vacancy expiring June 30, 2028. During the meeting the council also approved multiple contract and equipment items, confirmed a FOIA appeal determination, entered a closed session for a written legal opinion, and later authorized settlement of MTT Docket 24-001810 as recommended by the City Attorney.
