Durham introduces Dana Connors as new county library director

Joanne Pierce, assistant county manager, introduced Dana Connors as Durham County's newly appointed library director and summarized Connors' experience in Texas and North Carolina, including work in Charlotte-Mecklenburg and New Hanover counties. Pierce encouraged the community to meet Connors and praised interim staff who filled the role during the transition.
Connors, who the board said had served about five weeks in the role, thanked the board and staff and said library employees are what make the system work. "I've been here for 5 weeks now... they are what makes our library, and I'm very excited to be here and serving with them," Connors said. Commissioners welcomed Connors and recognized interim staffers Stephanie Fennell and Tammy Hall for their service.
