The council adopted a midyear resolution amending the 2026 operating budget after a staff presentation of proposed adjustments across 13 operating funds. The budget manager said the amendments include a $595,705 increase in the self-insurance fund to cover updated health insurance premiums for the July'December 2026 period and revenue increases for the Housing Innovation Fund driven by transfer fees and grants.
Other amendments approved included $300,000 from the conservation trust fund to repair an indoor water slide, $102,032 in 9-1-1 communications funding to add a QA supervisor (with a corresponding revenue reimbursement), and $236,291 in the airport fund for fuel-cost increases, emergency potable-water supply, a runway weather-information upgrade, and equipment replacements. Council approved the resolution on a roll call vote (4 in favor, 1 absent).
