Denton County commissioners on Tuesday approved a three-year document automation subscription from Tower Technologies for $1,088,570 under a Sourcewell cooperative contract.
County Clerk Julie told the court the software is intended to speed processing of routine e-filed documents: "This will help with those mundane, electronic filings that are filed to the courts and allow us to process those ones that just don't require a lot of evaluation." The clerk confirmed funding will come from the records management fund and not the general fund.
The court approved the purchase by voice vote with no recorded opposition. County officials said the subscription will streamline filings and reduce processing time for e-filed documents; staff will implement the system under the county's records management revenue fund.
