DART interim CEO: FY27 services unchanged; new CEO arrives Oct. 26 as agency expands GoLink and safety pilots

David Leininger, interim chief executive officer of Dallas Area Rapid Transit, told the Rowlett City Council that the agency will maintain current service levels into fiscal 2027 and focus on ridership development and a pending governance change. "He will be arriving at the agency on a full time basis October 26," Leininger said, introducing the incoming chief executive.
Leininger highlighted recent operational wins and system trends: DARTreported a higher customer net promoter score in its April survey ("It's, 32, and it was up from 22," he said) and continued growth in GoLink microtransit. He told council GoLink trips in the system have grown substantially and that DART will roll out a daily dashboard for member cities by the end of the month so local managers can monitor pickups, drop-offs and usage patterns. Leininger also described planned security pilots including gating tests at downtown stations, additional transit officers and a multidisciplinary response team (MDRT) to pair clinicians with enforcement to route people into treatment rather than incarceration.
