Council approves multiple budgeted equipment purchases and surplus sales

Service Director Joe Shaw presented a set of budgeted capital purchases for public works and parks. A Grasshopper mower for cemetery and grounds work was listed at $20,382.95 and was included in the '26 budget. Council approved the purchase as ordinance 42‑2026.
Council also approved a Yanmar SVS100 mini excavator ($153,250) and a Felling FT40‑2 trailer ($39,696.40) to modernize the fleet; both purchases were budgeted and passed as emergency ordinances (43‑2026 and 44‑2026). Shaw said the trailer will replace a worn 1997 unit and improve hauling capability.
Separately, administration received authorization to post obsolete equipment (self‑propelled leaf vacuum, 120‑gallon air compressor, water transfer pump) to GovDeals for sale.
