Chris Andre, a resident of nearby Georgetown, urged the council to consider enabling and partnering on a regional indoor sports complex that could bring year-round tournaments and visitor spending to Clarksville.
"I would welcome the opportunity to work with the city as a lead private partner and exploring whether this project could become a reality for Clarksville and our surrounding areas," Andre told the council, describing the site potential (including large vacant retail footprints such as Green Tree Mall) and Clarksville’s access to I‑64 and I‑65. He said repurposing existing space could revitalize underused commercial property and benefit local hotels, restaurants and retail.
Council staff and redevelopment personnel said they would follow up; redevelopment staff later said they would connect with Andre after the meeting to discuss partnerships and local planning implications. No formal action or incentives were requested or approved at the meeting.
