County to host courthouse tours and memorial dedication during America250 event Sept. 12

The Administration Committee discussed plans for an America250 celebration in partnership with the Cambridge BBQ Fest on Sept. 12. The county intends to offer courthouse tours from 10–11:30 a.m., hold a dedication of the Clarke Barnes Memorial Bench at the veterans memorial with the Orion Color Guard in attendance, and then transition to the Cambridge BBQ Fest that will continue into the evening.
Committee members reviewed logistical elements and schedules for the dedication and tours and noted the event will bring daytime courthouse activities together with the evening festival. Staff will continue planning and coordinate event details with festival organizers.
