Committee directs administrator to update benefits agreements for Chief Deputy and Jail Administrator

Claro Carter raised concerns at the Dec. 15 meeting that salaries for the Chief Deputy and the Jail Administrator should be formalized in a resolution or agreement consistent with what was adopted in the budget. County Administrator Dee Rentmeister replied that both positions already have benefits agreements and that the agreements could be revised to add an additional year (FY27) and to reflect the wages approved in the budget.
Rentmeister told the committee she will update the agreements and submit them to the full board for approval. Carter also asked whether any additional wages for zoning duties had been budgeted in FY26 for the maintenance supervisor or the county administrator; Rentmeister said the FY26 budget did not include previously approved money for zoning duties.
