Chicala listed the options — leading a professional development session, participating in a data protocol, peer-to-peer observation, conducting an action research project, submitting a digital capture with self-reflection, or soliciting student-perspective reflections — and said the alternate activity must be voluntary. She told the board that participating teachers must inform their supervisors by September 30 if they wish to use an alternate activity, and that the district's DI committee reviewed the proposal. The item will appear on the agenda for formal board consideration at the next meeting.
