Board honors community donor who cleared student lunch debts and recognizes Eagle Scout project

"As a proud graduate of Toms River Regional Schools, Christian's decision to pay off student lunch account balances is a powerful example of what it means to pay it forward," a district speaker said while presenting the community recognition. The board also presented an Eagle Scout recognition to freshman Justin Cruz Benoit, who completed a service project at the American Legion that included new plantings, an irrigation system, a bat house and a handicap-accessible walkway.
Administrators and board members thanked dozens of volunteers who supported a recent FAIR Funding auction that drew more than 500 attendees. The recognitions were presented as part of the meeting's awards portion and were not associated with a formal board action beyond the presentation.
