"It takes us probably less than 3 days to drive around the city, and then we ship the equipment back... and then they process everything in probably 3 ish weeks or so," Barnes said, describing the timeline. Council approved ordinance 18‑2026 as an emergency measure to enter into agreement with Civil Inc. and appropriate $18,200 for the software/system. Barnes said the service will produce a granular baseline for assets (signs, curb ramps, sidewalks, pavement markings, street trees, street lights) and automated pavement ratings to inform a 5‑ to 10‑year resurfacing plan.
