Council notes downtown wayfinding grant and upcoming community events

President Pro Tem Tom Stugmyer told Council that Main Street Wadsworth had been awarded a $75,000 grant to be contributed to the city's downtown wayfinding signage project; he noted the total project cost could be as much as twice that amount and that estimates had yet to be obtained. Stugmyer said the City previously removed $100,000 from the downtown infrastructure budget that had been earmarked for wayfinding signage and that Main Street will contribute the $75,000 toward that portion of the project.
Stugmyer also announced that the Blue Tip Parade would take place one week from the meeting and recognized long‑serving Blue Tip Festival Committee members Dwight Powers and Paul Weakley for their ceremonial role. He added that Pine Valley Golf Course was hosting the International Phoenix Cup disability golf tournament during the week and that the public could attend at no cost.
