Council advances annual authorization to allow internet auction of surplus property

Service Director Matt Hiscock told the Committee that Resolution No. 26-04 had been reviewed by the Public Service Committee and was recommended for three readings. Hiscock clarified that the resolution ‘‘does not authorize the sale of any specific property; instead, it provides the legal authority necessary for the City to use internet auctions whenever appropriate.’’ President of Council Dan Rospert then asked whether Council had questions; none were raised and Council Member Chris Maxwell agreed to move the legislation forward to second reading.
