Staff said signage often is ignored and that physical separation of uses is the most effective remedy: "The solution is really to do what you can to separate those uses," a staff member said.
Several members also discussed single-track mountain-bike trails and multimodal corridor concepts (bike lane, walking lane, dirt track) used elsewhere; cost estimates for major pedestrian overpasses were described as "pie in the sky" (tens of millions). The committee asked staff to bring refined options and rough cost estimates to fall capital planning so members can recommend feasible projects for the 2027 capital schedule.
