Evan told the committee the new restroom building in Town Park Plaza is complete and that staff will start a pre-bid process next week for contractor selection; the first tasks will be utility connections (water and electrical), with work expected to begin the weekend after a contractor is selected. "More or less potentially this fall, the first thing they're gonna have to do is establish the utility connections," Evan said.
Separately, staff reported a repair to a playground spinner at Marina Park: the top and bottom of one play structure broke and staff fabricated a repair that was installed and tested; no one was on the structure when it failed and staff are testing playground materials routinely to ensure safety. The committee noted soccer goals at Town Park have been well used and commended the parks crew for rapid repairs and park stewardship.
