The Parkland School District board approved several interagency agreements on July 21 aimed at student transitions and professional partnerships.
The board authorized the board president to execute a memorandum of understanding with Head Start / Early Head Start of the Lehigh Valley (item 7.7a). The annual agreement outlines how the local educational agency will transition children who attended Head Start programs; the MOU renews automatically each July 1.
The board also approved a five‑year affiliation agreement with Lehigh University that will allow Lehigh students to complete student teaching experiences in Parkland schools. Board members thanked the administration for maintaining local college affiliations to support the teacher pipeline.
Separately, the board approved an addendum to the GHR Education agreement to cover certified nursing assistant services and hourly rates. Each of these administration recommendations was moved, seconded, and carried by voice vote during the academics committee portion of the meeting.
