The Parkland School District board on July 21 approved an administration recommendation to renew and authorize the board president to execute a license agreement with Swiss Suite through Aug. 31, 2027.
Public commenters Laura Warmcastle and Mike Bodner asked the board to provide measurable evidence that the software has improved student behavior, reduced suspensions, or decreased bullying before renewing the contract. Warmcastle requested details on how many schools and applications are using Swiss Suite and asked taxpayers to see proof of benefit. Bodner criticized parts of the platform’s equity-related reporting and asked whether the system increases staff administrative work rather than supporting teachers.
Superintendent Dr. Madsen told the board during the round table that administration teams use Swiss Suite to analyze building-level and district-level data to identify where the district is falling short in behavior and achievement and to target areas for improvement. He said if administrative teams did not find it useful it would not have been brought to the board. The motion to approve the Swiss Suite agreement was moved, seconded and carried by the board at the meeting.
