Planning Board takes several votes: postponements, approvals and administrative endorsements (Aug. 5)

At its Aug. 5 meeting the board postponed five agenda items, approved multiple site plans (including 42 1st/35 2nd; Chandler Street; 9 Dalton; 93 Mann), approved a two‑year extension for 287 Providence Street, preliminarily approved New Bond Street redevelopment, favorably recommended a parking‑minimums zoning petition, and endorsed ANRs and surety forms — all by unanimous votes.
The Worcester Planning Board held a busy hybrid meeting on Aug. 5, passing a slate of procedural and substantive items by unanimous votes.
Early in the meeting the board moved to postpone items 1, 2, 4, 5 and 11 to Aug. 26 and extend constructive grant deadlines; the motion to postpone passed 4–0. The board then considered and approved a series of project applications: endorsement of ANR A&R 14c and approval of the definitive site plan for 42 1st / 35 2nd Street (both 4–0), approval of a 74‑unit multifamily project at Chandler & Irving Streets subject to staff conditions (4–0), approval of an extension of time for 287 Providence Street for two years (4–0), approval of the 5‑unit project at 9 Dalton Street with certain conditions removed (4–0), and approval of the 93 Mann Street frontage subdivision (4–0). The board also endorsed ANR items 14d and 14e, and set the form of surety for the C Street subdivision as a restrictive covenant. In a policy item the board voted 4–0 to favorably recommend a petition reducing the base residential off‑street parking minimums from 2 spaces to 1 to the City Council.
"Motion passes 4 to 0," the chair announced repeatedly as the board completed its votes. Minutes were tabled and the meeting adjourned.
