During the public-comment portion of the April 28 meeting several residents raised concerns about recent Fair Board activity and requested the board delay further appointments. Phyllis Wesly asked the board to "put the appointment on hold" and not make additional Fair Board appointments until identified issues are resolved. Other commenters, including Fair Board member Kay Walters and resident Marshall Stowe, urged the board to address operational problems at the fairgrounds and to find solutions before new appointments proceed.
Lore Twiet of Puget Island submitted a letter that referenced concerns about the April 21 meeting and repeated an assertion that Erin Hill had said Commissioner Cothren is her uncle. Commissioner Dan Cothren responded in the meeting, advising that "he is not related to Ms. Hill." The transcript records residents' criticisms of meeting conduct and calls for a pause on appointments; no formal action to postpone appointments was taken during this session.
