The Amelia County Board of Supervisors voted May 21 to authorize staff to publish the required public advertisements for the proposed fiscal year 2027 budget and the fee increases that had been presented to the Board. Supervisor Benjamin Morris made the motion, Supervisor Dexter Jones seconded, and the motion passed on a roll call vote with four ayes and one nay.
Chairman David M. Felts and county staff reviewed the budget materials at the work session and said staff remained available to answer questions. As staff put it during the meeting, "the proposed budget was ready to proceed to the public hearing phase." The vote record showed Ayes: Felts, Morris, Jones, Robinson; Nays: Easter. The board directed staff to provide the advertising materials to supervisors for review before publication.
