Amelia County staff present FY27 budget updates; General Fund remains balanced

Chairman David M. Felts, District 1, opened the Amelia County Board of Supervisors work session on May 13, 2026, and turned the meeting to County Administrator Eric S. Pollitt for a staff briefing on FY2027 budget updates. Pollitt said the county had realigned revenue estimates to cover CSA expenses, recorded a minor increase in Waste Management monitoring fee revenue, and revised projected Comp Board finding revenues. "Bottom Line: the overall total General Fund is still balanced," Pollitt told the board.
Pollitt also said staff incorporated updated VACORP general insurance numbers and made minor downward revisions to Victim Witness operations based on recent grant application information. The board discussed timing for a revised budget document; Pollitt said staff was performing a final quality‑control check and would distribute the revised budget to supervisors the following week. By consensus, the board asked staff to return with a presentation in time to set a public hearing once the revisions are complete.
