During departmental reports Councilmember Amsden raised two street-maintenance issues: a malfunctioning flashing light on 25 mph 'speed limit ahead' signs and shoulder gravel runoff along 4th Street near Elm Street. Operations Director Doug Hembry said he will repair the flashing lights and is aware of the runoff issue and has a plan to remedy it.
Hembry also raised the 10-acre project and suggested contacting SFG to handle mowing and spraying; Griggs agreed and Hembry said he will look into contacting SFG and arrange the work. No budget approvals were made at the July 20 meeting; staff follow-up was instructed.
