The Milo City Council on July 20 voted unanimously to hire Grasso Architects and Engineers PLLC to design and engineer a planned library addition, approving the firm’s $8,810 bid.
Councilmember Griggs moved "to approve Grasso Architects and Engineers PLLC bid of $8,810 to design and engineer the new library addition," and Councilmember Rasmussen seconded the motion. A roll-call vote recorded Amsden, Griggs, Mason, Rasmussen and Rodgers as voting yes.
Council members said the design step is intended to move the project from concept toward permitting and construction-ready plans; no construction contract was approved at this meeting. The clerk was directed to follow administrative steps, including submitting ordinance or code changes as needed to Iowa Codification where relevant.
The library design approval is a budgeted professional-services expense; council did not set a construction timeline at the meeting. The item will return to a future agenda with bids or additional cost estimates before any construction award.
