The Village of Denton Board of Trustees responded to public comments about snow removal at its Feb. 2 meeting and clarified village responsibilities. Resident Scott Zeilinger asked for permission to remove snow around his business if the village could not; resident Mike Sammus raised concerns that the alley between Lancaster and Cass avenues had not been getting cleared. Chair Joe Hobelman announced the village will clear village sidewalks, the village parking lot and the downtown business district and maintain a consistent plowing policy.
No change was made to the village’s written policy at the meeting, but the board directed more consistent operational clearing of key pedestrian and commercial areas. Requests for notification when village crews cannot clear specific locations were noted as part of the discussion.
