Denton adopts snow and ice response standards, sets enforcement roles

The Village of Denton Board adopted a formal Snow Removal Policy at its Dec. 1 meeting, establishing minimum standards for snow and ice response. The policy sets response timeframes such as sidewalks within 24 hours, arterials/business district over 2 inches within 12 hours, and transit/school routes over 3 inches within 16 hours. It also outlines ice response and blowing/drifting standards and states that standards will be enforced by the Village Maintenance Supervisor and Village Board Chair.
Trustee Doug Rosekrans moved the motion to adopt the policy; Amanda Fangmeier seconded, and the motion carried. The policy formalizes operational expectations for maintenance staff and clarifies enforcement responsibilities going into winter.
