The motion to approve the addendum passed 3— after trustees requested more information about Pasadena City College (PCC)s planned offering for Rosemead High School.
Dr. Rivas explained the addendum covers teacher assignments and pay arrangements for district teachers who elect to teach in the summer math academy. Trustees asked PCC representatives to present details on tutoring and credit-recovery options; trustees emphasized parity with the Rio Hondo College program where possible. "We negotiated the same set of courses and course outlines so that students will have comparable options," Dr. Rivas said, while noting PCC had not yet finalized all operational details and that the district would require parity on key services.
Yolanda Emerson (Rio Hondo) and PCC representatives agreed in the meeting record that morning and evening orientation options are possible to improve parent participation. Trustees also asked district staff to circulate current enrollment counts by site and course so principals can be supported in recruitment efforts.
