Councilors voted to have the town administer a Department of Agriculture farmers-market grant after staff described the expected administrative tasks. Matt explained typical duties would include preparing transaction records, submitting documentation to the agricultural department and filing quarterly status reports.
‘‘It's 30,000, you know, all in,’’ Matt said when asked about the grant size, and he added that he did not expect the administration to be complicated. Councilors approved the motion to apply and to have staff administer the grant by voice vote.
