The Long Prairie City Council adopted Resolution No. 25-11-12-38 approving a Conditional Use Permit for St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church at 409 Central Avenue that authorizes demolition, renovation and expansion of the church and institutional facilities in the R‑1 zoning district, subject to conditions. Conditions include approval of a final parking plan, compliance with Minnesota Accessibility Code (ADA), building and fire-code approvals, submission of drainage/stormwater plans approved by the City Engineer, and combining the four tax parcels into a single parcel for recording.
Council Member Krueger moved to approve the resolution and a lot-combination application for the church’s parcels; Council Member Schroeder seconded and the motions were unanimously approved. City staff are directed to issue the appropriate building permits and to ensure compliance with the listed conditions before occupancy or additional site work begins.
