County staff summarized a batch of business items and recommended moving several to later agendas for additional procurement detail and clarification. The agenda items moved included a tourism website item, a UPS replacement procurement for dispatch, basement flooring RFPs, and a VirTra training add-on for the sheriff's office.
On a fee-waiver request from Cunningham Sheep Company for wind and solar permitting fees, staff said the request raises precedent concerns because the county has not waived similar fees in the past. "We've never waived any of those," a staff member said, and commissioners requested more information before deciding. The board also agreed to reschedule a work session from Aug. 24 to Aug. 26 with a 3:30 p.m. start to accommodate calendar conflicts; staff said they would update the agenda accordingly.
Other items noted for future agenda action included a UCTAC appointment for Leslie Garcia and fair-related purchases. No final board decisions on the fee waiver were recorded in this session.
