Mountain View Middle School Principal Lauren Lanum reported to the board that the school completed ELPAC testing in five days, is piloting the Desmos math curriculum, and that seventh graders attended a Drumline performance at the Gallo Center for the Arts where staff complimented student behavior. Lanum also noted Sports Fest took place and that Boys’ Basketball and Girls’ Soccer completed their seasons with the girls’ soccer team winning its final game.
Chatom State Preschool Director Sandra Nunes told the board the preschool currently has 20 students enrolled in the morning class and 16 in the afternoon class, with the afternoon class expected to increase to 17 by Friday. She announced preschool registration days for the 2026–2027 school year on April 29 and May 6 and listed upcoming events including Spring Pictures, Ag Day, and a Jog‑a‑thon.
