“Pretty much what we would like to do is we would like to do 3 d lettering,” Paula said in her presentation. Board members asked whether the lettering could echo the building’s cornice font to create historical consistency and discussed moving the existing fixtures up above the sign. Staff recommended that the applicant confirm the final font and lighting details with the planning department; the board approved the application on that condition so staff can finalize whether the selected font and illumination comply with storefront guidelines.
Staff will record the final lettering choice in the file and advise whether the proposed window decals and lighting conform to the planning guidelines before installation.
