Union leaders cite DOJ findings and a no-confidence survey, call for leadership changes at El Monte Union

Hernandez thanked the district for beginning 2026'27 negotiations and urged compliance with the DOJ's stipulated judgment.
Don Quicke said a no-confidence petition created before spring break drew more than 100 signatures and a later survey of members returned 60.5% no confidence in Dr. Zuniga among respondents; he said that result indicated leadership change was needed even as he acknowledged that addressing systemic abuse requires broader work. "To me, it's clear from this that Dr. Zuniga should step down," Quicke said in his remarks to the board.
