Kane County board approves FY27 budget after debate over levies, reserves and transport funding

The Kane County Board voted to approve the FY27 budget ordinance, identified in the meeting as "26-338," after members debated whether to adopt a budget before finalizing levy rates. Several members, including Juby and Gumbs, expressed discomfort approving appropriations before levies are set and asked for accounting clarity on specific funds and line items. The board completed a roll-call vote and approved the ordinance.
